Site failure … oh my …backup, backup. backup ….

IndieOS Customers, As you may know, we had a pretty disastrous hardware issue over the weekend and brought things back online as of late last night. The latest backup we were able to restore to was about 3 months old. As a result, any updates between approximately 11/22/06 and present have been lost. Additionally, accounts created after 11/22/06 are starting from scratch. Unfortunately, this was the best we could do as the main drive on that machine was destroyed and the backup drive was seriously damaged.
We can’t apologize enough for the inconvenience this causes and the downtime. While this is what I’d call a freak occurance, we understand that this may be unacceptable to some. Per the Terms of Service, we are not responsible for lost data in these events. However, if you have paid in advance and would like to cancel at this time, we will make refunds available for the unused time. Additionally, we’ll provide 30 days to claim your files and make the move.
On the other hand, if you wish to stick with us, we greatly appreciate your support. Please know that we are immediately getting to work on even more redundant safeguards to minimize the risk of dataloss and downtime in these type of situations. Additionally, we’d like to remind you to make sure to back up your own files, databases and email stored on the server.
If you have any questions or concerns whatsoever, please contact me directly at jclagg@indieos.com.
