Baby Gene Pool’s Traveling Circus

Driving through Kansas in the early 80’s: Nancy was driving and I was riding shot gun, drawing what ever came into my head, as we wheeled through flatland. I drew Bones and Mrs Bones dancing the Apocalytic Tango. The next morning I woke up and thought. “They need a child. Baby Gene Pool!” I had found the nuclear family for a new cast of characters. During the rest of the drive I did drawings for a Seven Days to the End of The World calendar. The idea was that when things got really dire [if the USA or the Russian were set to launch a nuclear strike] you would start ripping the pages from it, a day at the time. Those drawings evolved into the cast for Baby Gene Pool’s Traveling Circus.
