Due to my old operating system lack of skills this site will be text only.
Then came along a little robot… but the operating system is not up to date so pity the little robor which struggles to maintain the meaning of meaning. so even though the nice little robot put this picture up for us IT”S STILL TEXT ONLY for RWF
This is the kind of stuff (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/17/arts/design/17phot.html) that made photohistory fun. I remember driving around England with a wicked head cold and I came to this old estate that was some kind of museum and I pulled in and got out of the car and immediately had that “deja vu” experience. Then I read the sign and it was Fox Talbot’s home - Lacock Abbey. Of course I had been there before..I knew right where that doorway was with the broom leaning against it…..
I suppose part of this is our fault. I did always tell my students to offer to send anyone that they photographed a copy of the resulting picture. Roger Mertin used to carry carry a polaroid camera with him when he went into a bar to shoot with his 4×5 as a way of making up for his exploitation of the inhabitants.
